The work of nostrils and taste pupils, experience and craftsmanship, traditional techniques and modern technology.

Massy, the oldest distillery in Limburg, is located at Lijsterstraat 30/3 in Houthalen. Lambert Massy started in 1905 as a lemonade manufacturer. He used German aromas and extracts, sought after for their high quality. Father Lambert soon thought that these extracts could do just as well in alcohol as in water with a small adjustment. This immediately became the start of his distillery and next to his lemonades, the first depot of Artois beers. Over the years, he has also included his three sons in the company and since 1949 his youngest son, Julien, has taken charge of the distillery, while the other two brothers have remained in the beer-soft drinks-milk-water sector.

In 1994, the third generation joined and became the DISTILLERY MASSY nv. In 1996, the company moved to a larger location and the third generation took over completely. And since 2003, exports have also taken place. In 2004 a start was made with the Hasselt grain jenever. 2005 anniversary year 100th anniversary.

In 2014 we moved to a new crafts park in Houthalen-Oost. The 4th generation has also been active in the distillery ever since.

In what is Massy strong? Privat label drinks eg develop a special drink from a few hundred (and more) bottles. We can use our craftsmanship in these drinks: a classic basis with the taste desired by the customer. These variations on known and sometimes entirely new themes already yielded a range of some 175 varieties, all prepared in an artisan way.
